Sol 1 Update
May 11, 2019
- Fixed a bug where debris piles at the edge of the map could not be looted.
- Terrain is now procedurally generated using a perlin noise algorithm.
- Artwork added/changed: Electronic Components, Ice, Workshop
- Added silica to loot.
- Fixed a bug that caused the build menu to behave erratically after rejoining the game after death.
- Attack speed increased.
- Fixed a bug where a crashed pod was sometimes not available when players spawned near the edge of the map.
- Added extra framing tubes to debris piles in easy mode.
- Fixed a canvas rendering issue that caused grid lines to show in Firefox. (Note: I am still noticing faint lines occasionally, but this is a good temporary fix.)
- Upon crafting a backpack it will now automatically equip if you don't have one.
- Patched an issue with camera not centering on player (still some issues with this in different window sizes, but it's working correctly on common displays for now).
- Fixed a bug that prevented inventory tooltips from updating properly after crafting an item.
- Fixed a problem with loading the default skin for new players.
- Debris piles now randomly spawn as others are removed (to keep materials/loot available for players.)
Sol 2 Update
May 15, 2019
- Fixed a bug that caused player slot items to disappear when moving the backpack to the HAB inventory.
- Changed the loading method for buildings and connectors which should fix the graphical "flashing bug". (Note: if anyone continues to notice this issue, please let me know.)
- Storage units now provide 4 additional inventory slots instead of 2.
- Fixed a bug that would keep a tooltip on-screen.
- Added a settings dialog that shows game controls/keys accessible using the gear icon at the top-right of the screen (in-game). In the future I may add the ability to change control inputs.
- Players can now split loot stacks in half by holding the SHIFT key when dragging to/from inventory slots.
- Fixed a bug that caused the player to disappear upon reconnecting to the game after death or server disconnect.
- Fixed an issue with the player's view radius not showing correctly on the minimap or being calculated properly on the server.
- Added electronic components to craftables - these are intended for vehicles (future update) and do not serve any purpose currently.
- Added handling for Satellite dish - unlocks certain crafting items and Earth will send a supply drop.
- Optimized some networking code to reduce server output (less data = less lag).
- Dust storms now have a maximum time limit of 45 seconds.
- Water/thirst drains more slowly.
- Fixed an issue in the CORS policy that prevented the login page from retrieving player counts from servers.
